Welcome to the East Midlands Alpaca Group

Supported by the British Alpaca Society, the East Midlands Alpaca Group is a firendly community aiming to connect alpaca owners across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland.
Whether you are new to alpacas and looking to learn more, or managing an established herd, we are here to build a network of support.

A NEW LOOK FOR 2026!

We are heading into 2026 with a refreshed look and a new website.
Our new logo reflects our plans to focus more on you, our communitiy and the fundamentals of good welfare in the East Midlands region.

We're moving towards a more community focused approach — helping people meet, share experiences, and feel supported. While shows and training still have their place and we will be sharing all the. fantastic work BAS and our neighbouring groups do, this year we are putting more emphasis on the basics of welfare, day-to-day questions, and working with local vets on things like vaccination schemes plus with BAS and wholesalers on making the most of your fibre, so we can all stay up to date and enjoy our herds.

MEMBER BENEFITS

Our aim is to bring local support to you and your herds.

Sharing knowledge, local contacts, and the best connections to BAS initiatives and industry updates.

A map of our members across the East Midlands, a company directory - covering vets, suppliers and fibre outlets - and a chance to help showcase the wonderful world of alpacas at public events.

We will be building a sales page to advertise alpacas looking for their next home, a library of useful resources on basic welfare and planning for the year ahead.

In person events three times a year, hosted by our wonderful members to help put faces to names and build your support network.
